Most people become eligible for Medicare at age 65. Your Initial Enrollment Period begins three months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and continues for three months after. Enrolling on time can help you avoid late enrollment penalties and gaps in coverage.
If you have health coverage through your employer or your spouse's employer, your Medicare enrollment options may be different. The right decision depends on factors such as the size of the employer and the type of coverage you have. We'll help you understand how your current coverage works with Medicare.
Original Medicare includes Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance). Many people also choose a Medicare Supplement plan and a Part D prescription drug plan.
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and combine your Medicare benefits into one plan. Many also include prescription drug coverage and additional benefits.
We'll help you understand how each option works so you can make an informed decision.

The cost of Medicare depends on several factors, including the coverage you choose. While many people receive Part A without a monthly premium if they meet eligibility requirements, Part B has a monthly premium, and other plans may have additional premiums, deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance.
We'll help you understand the costs associated with your options.
